Bedford St Paul's church is home to the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment previously the Bedfordshire Regiment and prior to that the 16th (Bedfordshire) Regiment of Foot. Consequently there are many plaques celebrating the Regiment. Those denoting the depositing of colours have not been included here as they were difficult to photograph.

IN MEMORY OF THE FOLLOWING OFCIERS, NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS AND PRIVATES, WHO DIED OF YELLOW FEVER AND OTHER CAUSES, FROM 1866 TO 1869, DURING WHICH PERIOD THE REGIMENT WAS SERVING IN THE WEST INDIES
