Gunner 253142, "A" Battery, 174th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Died of wounds in United Kingdom Monday 24 June 1918. Aged 28. Born St. Neots [CWGC], resident Luton, enlisted Huntingdon. Son of the late John Thomas Ibbett; husband of Hilda Mary Ibbett, of 10, Buckley Rd., Eynesbury, St. Neots. In the 1901 census he was aged 9, born Sevenoaks, Kent, son of John T and Elizabeth Ibbett, resident New Street, St Neots, Huntingdonshire. In the 1911 census he was aged 19, born Sevenoaks, Kent, unmarried, a Bread Maker. son of Elizabeth Ibbett (a widow), resident Berkley Street, Eynesbury, Huntingdonshire. Buried in ST. IBBETT George William
[Listed as William IBBETT on CWGC and William George IBBETT on SDGW] Private 3073, 1st/5th Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment. Died on service at Gallipoli 23 September 1915. Aged 18. Born Northampton, enlisted and resident Luton. Baptised 6 June 1897 in Wollaston, Northamptonshire, son of John THomas and Susan Elizabeth Ibbett. Unmarried. Son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Ibbett, of 6, Warwick Road, Luton, Bedfordshire. In the 1901 census he was aged 3, born Wollaston, Northamptonshire, son of John T and Susan E Ibbett, resident Kenmure Road, Finedon, Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. In the 1911 census he was aged 13, born Wollation (sic), Northampton, at School/Newsboy, son of John Thomas and Susan Elizabeth Ibbett, resident 6, Warwick Road, Luton, Bedfordshire. See 1st/5th Bedfordshires in Gallipoli. No known grave. Commemorated on HELLES MEMORIAL, Turkey (including Gallipoli). Panel 55 and 218.
IMBER Victor George
Sapper 327501, Base Details, Royal Engineers. Died 24 November 1918. Aged 31. Unmarried. Resident 19, Cardiff Grove. Son of George Samuel Squire Imber and Esther Harriet Imber, of 38, Cardigan Street, Luton. In the 1901 census he was aged 13, born Poole, Dorset, son of George S S and Esther H Imber, resident 8, Towngate Street, Poole St James, Poole, Dorset. In the 1911 census he was aged 24, born Poole, Dorset, a Printer Lithographer, boarding at 252, High Street North, Dunstable, Bedfordshire. Buried in ST. SEVER CEMETERY EXTENSION, ROUEN, Seine-Maritime, France. Section S. Plot II. Row CC. Grave 16.
IMPEY Joseph Herbert
Private 41555, 4th Battalion, South Staffordshire Regiment. Killed in action 30 May 1918. Aged 37. Born and enlisted Luton, Bedfordshire. Married. Husband of Emily Impey, of 70, Pondwicks Road, Luton, Beds, married in the April to June Quarter 1906 in Luton. In the 1891 census he was aged 9, born Luton, a scholar, son of Joseph and Martha Impey, resident Springfield Cottage, Windmill Road, Luton. In the 1901 census he was aged 19, born Luton, a Jobbing Printer, son of Joseph and Martha Impey, resident Lodge - Sewage Works, Windmill Road, Luton. In the 1911 census he was aged 29, born Luton, a Letterpress Machine Minder, married to Emily Impey with two sons, resident 87A, Langley Place, Luton. Admitted to 51st Field Ambulance 26 September 1917 with problems with his feet, transferred out the same day to XVII CRS. Religious denomination Church of England. Attended Australian general Hospital at Rouen with a mild sprain to left wrist 1 January 1918. No known grave. Commemorated on SOISSONS MEMORIAL, Aisne, France.

IMPEY, J., Private, 4th South Staffordshire Regt.
He joined in July 1916, and after his training was drafted to the Western Front, where he took part in severe fighting in many important engagements. He was killed in action on May 30th, 1918, and was entitled to the General Service and Victory Medals.

Private 40047, 7th Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment. Died of wounds 8 October 1917. Aged 22. Born and enlisted Luton, Bedfordshire. Unmarried. Son of Mr. and Mrs. George Impey, of 43, Bailey Street, Luton, Bedfordshire. In the 1901 census he was aged 6, born Luton, son of George and Elizabeth Impey, resident 59, Langley Street, Luton. In the 1911 census he was aged 16, born Luton, a Grocer's Assistant, son of George and Eliza Impey, resident 25, Park Road West, Luton. Buried in LIJSSENTHOEK MILITARY CEMETERY, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot XXI. Row D. Grave 2A.

IMPEY, S. T. G., Private, 7th Leicestershire Regt.
Joining In March 1916, he was drafted to France in July of the same year. He took part in numerous engagements and was killed in action on. October 8th, 1917. He was entitled to the General Service and Victory Medals,

In the 1911 census he was aged 16, born Luton, a Straw Blacker, son of William and Harriett Impey, resident 53, Cowper Street, Luton. No known grave. Commemorated on THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Pier and Face 11 A and 11 D.

IMPEY, W., Private, 6th Northamptonshire Regt.

He joined in February 1916, and in the following July was dratted to the Western Front, where he took part in severe fighting on the Somme and at Beaumont-Hamel. He was killed in action at Albert on February 17th, 1917, and was entitled to the General Service and Victory Medals.

He volunteered in 1914, and in the same year was drafted to the Western Front, where be took part in numerous engagements, and was wounded. On October 12th, 1916, he was killed in action on the Somme, and was entitled to the 1914 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals.

Australian place of association Waterfall, New South Wales, Australia. Nephew of, and brought up by, Mr. A. Scrivener, of Gandds Farm, Much Hadham, East Hertfordshire, Hertfordshire, England. Employed as a Fireman on the Waterfall to Sydney Railway. Educated by Ciounty Council and at Clarke's Training College, London. In the 1911 census he was aged 17, born Luton, a Farm Worker, nephew of Arthur and Elizabeth Scrivener, resident Gandds Farm, Much Hadham ,Hertfordshire. Son of Charles and Emma Ivins, of Salford, Oxon; husband of Ethel May Smith (formerly Ivins), of "The Painters Arms," Luton. In the 1911 census he was aged 26, born Safford, Oxon, a Licensed Victualler, husband of Ethel May Ivins with one son, resident The Bull Inn, High Street North, Dunstable, Bedfordshire. Buried in COUIN NEW BRITISH CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. Row B. Grave 31.

Son of Maria Ivory, of 2, East Avenue, Park Street, Luton, and the late William Ivory. In the 1911 census he was aged 17, born Luton, a Pawn Brokers Assistant, son of Maria Ivory, resident 1, Wood Street, Luton. No known grave. Commemorated on YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 31 and 33.
