Resident Chiswick, Middlesex, enlisted Whitehall, London S.W. Unmarried. Son of Mr. and Mrs. George Kingham, of Aldenham House, Reginald St., Luton; husband of Edith E. Kingham, of "Charnwood," Thornbury Avenue, Osterley, Middx. A Master Builder. In the 1891 census he was aged 6, born Luton, son of George and Cisley (sic) Kingham, resident Hastings Street, Luton. In the 1901 census he was aged 16, born Luton, son of George and Cicely Kingham, resident 106, Old Bedford Road, Luton. In the 1911 census he was aged 26, born Luton, a Carpenter, son of George and Cicely Jane Kingham, resident 106, Old Bedford Road, Luton. Buried in DON COMMUNAL CEMETERY, ANNOEULLIN, Nord, France. In the 1911 census he was aged 23, born Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, a Bill Poster, son of Mary Vera De (a widow), resident 124, Maple Road, Luton. Buried in CAIRO WAR MEMORIAL CEMETERY, Egypt. KINGHAM, S. D. V., Gunner, R.G.A.
Joining in October 1916, he was sent to Egypt a year later, and subsequently served in the Palestine campaign, during which he fought at Gaza, Jaffa and Haifa. Later he contracted dysentery, of which he died in hospital at Cairo on November 18th, 1918. He was entitled to the General Service and Victory Medals.

In the 1901 census he was aged 7, born Luton, son of Thomas and Emily Kirby, resident 5, Spring Place, Luton. In the 1911 census he was aged 17, born Luton, a General Labourer, son of Thomas and Emily Kirby, resident 138, Wellington Street, Luton. No known grave. Commemorated on LE TOURET MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France. Panel 10 and 11.
KIRBY Frederick William
Private 18560, Army Cyclist Corps (Eastern Eexpeditionary Force). Died of pneumonia as a complication of Malaria 16 November 1918. Aged 36. Born 23 July 1883 in Luton. Married. Son of Mr. and Mrs. William Kirby, of Luton; husband of Lily Kirby, of 79, Ridgway Road, Luton. researching the details of Frederick William Kirby who is listed in Luton Roll of Honour as Army Cyclists Corps No. 18560 I have found the following details. Born 23 July 1883, son of William and Emily Kirby of Burr Street Luton, one of eight children. He enlisted in 3rd Volunteers Beds Regiment in 1899 and rejoined in 1904, Transferred to 5th Btn when Volunteers became T.F. He married Lily Rayment on 25 May 1901 and by the time of his death they had four children. On outbreak of war he was recalled in September 1914 No. 3699 but transferred to the East Anglian Cyclists Corps on 28 April 1915. These became 54th Division Cyclists Corps and his No. was 18560. He was serving in Egypt and in September 1918 and became seriously ill with Malaria,being admitted to hospital at Alexandria. Buried in ALEXANDRIA (HADRA) WAR MEMORIAL CEMETERY, Egypt. Plot E. Grave 192.
KIRBY Joseph Walter
[Listed as Walter KIRBY on SDGW and CWGC] Rifleman 474416, 12th (County of London) Battalion (The Rangers), London Regiment formerly 1907, Royal Army Medical Corps (Territorial Force). Killed in action 26 September 1917. Resident and enlisted Luton. Unmarried. Resident 9, Old Bedford Road. In the 1901 census he was aged 6, born Luton, son of Walter G and Rose Kirby, resident 31, York Street, Luton. No known grave. Commemorated on TYNE COT MEMORIAL, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. KIRCHIN Arthur
[Listed as KIRGHIN on SDGW] Private 126421, 693rd Agricultural Company, Labour Corps formerly 41326, Royal West Surrey Regiment. Died on service in United Kingdom 17 April 1918. Aged 27. Born and resident Luton, Beds, enlisted Bletchley, Buckinghamshire. Married. Formerly resident 6, Hitchin Road. Son of Frederick William and Rose Kirchin; husband of Hettie Elizabeth (nee Short) Sheppard (formerly Kirchin), of Highfield, Wellingborough, married 24 June 1914 in Luton. In the 1901 census he was aged 19. born Luton, a Marine Store Dealer, son of Fredrick 9sic) and Rose Kirchin, resident 6, Hitchin Road, Luton. Buried in LUTON CHURCH BURIAL GROUND, Bedfordshire. Private 240914, 2nd/6th Battalion, Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment). Died of wounds 30 April 1917. Aged 25. Born Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, resident Luton, Bedfordshire, enlisted Bolsover, Derbyshire. Married. Son of Robert and Sarah Kirk, of Bolsover, Chesterfield; husband of Beatrice D. (nee Laurence) Kirk, of 154, Wellington Street, Luton, Beds, married 1915 in Luton. Buried in LA CHAPELETTE BRITISH AND INDIAN CEMETERY, PERONNE, Somme, France. Plot II. Row C. Grave 1.
