It takes the form of a flat lead panelled memorial on titled stone base with white lettered inscription at the top and four small panels at the centre bearing the World War 1 names and further panel at the base with the World War 2 names; there are small stone spheres set on the stone surrounding the plaques. The names here have been sorted into alphabetical order for ease of reading and research. There are 37 names for World War 1 and 27 names for World War 2. The memorial was rededicated by the Dean of Bangor and unveiled by the Lord Mayor of Bangor 1 January 1974.

Extract from North Wales Weekly News, 5 May 1911, page 3:

Arnold Dargie.

We understand that Arnold Dargie, the clever and brilliant Bangor forward, has signed an amateur form for Liverpool F.C. Arnold, who is a son of the president of the North Wales roast Football League (Mr. T. Dargie) it 20 years of age. and is a class forward for the Bangor Combination team, and has represented Wales in amateur international matches. He scored his 60th goal when Bangor beat Connah's Quay recently in a Combination match at Bangor. Forty-six of these have been scored for Bangor and the rest for Chester. He has also performed the hat trick ten times. An excellent picture of Arnold Dargie appears in the current issue of the “Athletic News.” We wish him every success with the Liverpool Football Club, which is one of the most popular first leaguers in North Wales.

Extract from Liverpool Echo, 24 Srptember 1917, page 4:

FOOTBALL'S LOSS.
DEATH OF MRS. TOM WATSON AND
MAJOR DARGIE.

Mr. George Patterson, the Liverpool F.C. secretary, informs us that to-day, at 12.5 p.m., Mrs. Tom, Watson passed away. It is a coincidence that it was at the same hour on May 6, 1915, that the former Liverpool secretary, passed away. Mrs. Watson was a fairly constant visitor to the football ground, and to her boys sympathy will be extended.

Another loss to football, though it has but a slight connection with Liverpool F.C., owing to the fact that Arnold Dargie played but a couple of games for the reserve team, is the death of Major Arnold Dargie, of Bangor F.C. He was a terror to goal¬keepers, and Wales soon favoured his inclusion in the amateur international side. One season he scored over 100 goals for Bangor. Yesterday his father had news of his death, and also of the fact that Welsh soldiers gathered round his grave and sang the Welsh hymn “Beth sydd i mi yn y byd “ to “Aberystwyth.”
