The memroial is located by the Pendre Road/Bryn Y Bria Road, Penrhynside, Aberconwy, Gwynedd. It takes the form of a pillar with a carved drape and wreath set on a plinth with a two stepped base; th memorial is surrounded by a paved area with iron railings. The memorial itself was unveiled on Wednesday 25th May 1921 at 3 p.m. by Captain A. Taylor. There are 22 names for World War 1 and one for World War 2.

Acting Sergeant M2/113531, M.T Depot (Isleworth), Royal Army Service Corps. Died in United Kingdom 29th October 1918. Born Radcliffe, Lancashire, enlisted Birmingham, resident Llandudno. Buried in BLACKPOOL CEMETERY, Lancashire. Plot M. Grave 63.

CLARK Arthur Thomas 

[Spelt CLARKE on SDGW] Private 15530, 16th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Killed in action 3rd July 1918. Aged 27. Born Birmingham, enlisted Llandudno. Son of Ellen and the late W. A. Clarke, of Llandudno; husband of J. T. Clarke, of Bryn Horeb, Great Ormes Head, Llandudno. Buried in VARENNES MILITARY CEMETERY, Somme, France. Plot III. Row I. Grave 1.

COX Frederick

Private 5628, 1st Battalion, Royal Munster Fusiliers. Killed in action at Gallipoli 21st August 1915. Aged 23. Born Belfast, enlisted Wrexham, Denbighshire, resident Penryh Bay, Llandudno. Son of John and Mary Cox, of 9, Quarry Cottages, Penrhyn Bay, Llandudno; husband of Mary Cox, of 6, Windmill Lane, Crumlin, Co. Dublin. Formerly 8499, Lancers of the Line. Commemorated on HELLES MEMORIAL, Turkey. Panel 185 to 190.

EVANS Goronwy

Gunner 310555, 177th Siege Battery, Welsh (Carnarvonshire) Royal Garrison Artillery (Territorial Force), Royal Garrison Artillery. Aged 20. Died of wounds 28th October 1917. Born Llangwstenin, enlisted Bangor. Son of Daniel and Jane Evans, of Wiga, Bryn Pydew, Llandudno Junction. Buried in YPRES RESERVOIR CEMETERY, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot I. Row I. Grave 45.

EVANS Edward 

Driver 160396, "B" Battery, 298th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Killed in action 30th November 1917. Born Llandudno, enlisted Wrexham. Son of Ann Parry, of 3, Mount Pleasant, Penrhynside, Llandudno, Carnarvonshire. Buried in VLAMERTINGHE NEW MILITARY CEMETERY, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot X. Row B. Grave 1.

GRIFFITHS Joseph 

Private 17402, 13th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Killed in Action 7th December 1916. Aged 30. Born and enlisted in Rhyl. Married to Jane who, by 1921 was living at Pen-y-Parc Cottage in Penrhynside. Buried in Essex Farm Cemetery, Row X, Plot II, Grave 2.

GRIFFITHS John James 

Private 19087, 14th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Killed in Action 23 July 1917, aged 23. Born in South Wales, married Emily Roberts of Bryn Hafod, Penrhynside. Buried in Bard Cottage Cemetery, Belgium, Plot III, Row E Grave 2.

HALL Samuel Edward 

Private 14530, 11th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Killed in action in Salonika (Greece) 18th September 1918. Aged 23. Born Llanwst, enlisted Llandudno. Son of Joseph and Jane Hall, of 2, Mount Pleasant, Penrhynside, Llandudno. Buried in DOIRAN MILITARY CEMETERY, Greece. Plot V. Row B. Grave 28.

HARRIS Robert 

Private 20454, "B" Company, 14th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Killed in action 2nd September 1917. Aged 27. Born and resident Landudno, enlisted Colwyn Bay. Son of Robert George and Annie Harris, of 10, Mount Pleasant, Penrhynside, Llandudno. Commemorated on TYNE COT MEMORIAL, Zonnebeke, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 63 to 65.

JONES John Mark 

Private 21375, "A" Company, 14th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Killed in action 18th March 1916. Aged 33. Born Conway, enlisted Llandudno. Son of Ann Jones, of 2, Pen-y-Ffordd Terrace, Penrhynside, Llandudno, and the late Thomas Jones. Buried in LE TOURET MILITARY CEMETERY, RICHEBOURG-L'AVOUE, Pas de Calais, France. Plot III. Row E. Grave 11.

LANGFORD George Thomas 

Corporal 18543, 16th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Killed in action 22nd April 1918. Born Llantrisant, enlisted Tonypandy. Son of William and Susan Langford of Tonypandy and husband of Hannah Langford of Bryn Ifan, nr. Penrhynside. Buried in BOUZINCOURT RIDGE CEMETERY, ALBERT, Somme, France. Plot I. Row C. Grave 15.

LLOYD Edward Samuel 

Able Seaman J/39238, HMS Bombala. Born 28th September 1898. Parents Llewelyn and Ellen Lloyd. Mother widowed, later re-married and resident Pant Uchaf, Pant y Wennol. Joined the Royal Navy as a boy sailor in 1915. Died 3rd May 1918. Aged 19. No known grave. Commemorated on Hollybrook Memorial, Southampton.

OWEN John 

Private 75428, 19th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Killed in action 8th January 1918. Aged 21. Born Penrhynside, enlisted Bangor, resident Llandudno. Son of John and Frances Owen, of Tan-Y-Wal, Penrhynside, Llandudno, Carnarvonshire. Formerly 2092, Denbighshire Yeomanry. Buried in MORY ABBEY MILITARY CEMETERY, MORY, Pas de Calais, France. Plot II. OWEN William Glyndwr 

Private 45003, 1/5th Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers. Died 26 October 1917. Aged 21. Born Rhondda Valley, South Wales on 7th June 1896. Parents Owen Hugh Owen and Elizabeth Owen. Resident 4 Mount Pleasant, Penrhynside. Buried in Cement House Cemetery, Belgium, Plot XIII, Row E, Grave 24

PHILLIPS Emrys Ceredig 

Private 31924, 19th Battalion, Welch Regiment. Born Harlech, Merioneth. Died 19th June 1917 aged 23. Resident 1 Woodbine Terrace, Penrhynside. Parents Rev. William Phillips and Elizabeth Phillips. Buried Bard Cottage Cemetery, Belgium, Plot II, Row G, Grave 2.

ROBERTS Llewelyn 

Private 21378, 14th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Enlisted 1914. Killed in Action 6th October 1918. Aged 25. Son of Mr and Mrs W Roberts of Llandudno and husband of Dorothy Roberts of 1 Mount Pleasant, Penrhynside. Buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gouy, France.

Private 26349, 17th Battalion, Welch Regiment. Died 4th August 1917. Aged 22. Son of William and Elizabeth Catherine Roberts of Craigle, Hen Dwr Lane, Penrhynside. Buried in Gouzeaucourt New British Cemetery, France Plot VIII. Row G, Grave 19

Private 10135, 1st Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Killed in action 30th October 1914. Aged 24. Born Newcastle, Northumberland, enlisted Wrexham, resident Penrhynside. Son of James and Kate Sanford, of 13, Mount Pleasant, Penrhynside, Llandudno. Buried in SANCTUARY WOOD CEMETERY, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot V. Row N. Grave 12.

WHITTLE James 

Private 26209, 17th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Died of wounds 8th August 1917. Aged 20. Born Preston, Lancashire, enlisted Llandudno, resident Penrhynside. Son of James and Mary Whittle, of Tany-Fron, Penrhynside, Llandudno. Buried in WIMEREUX COMMUNAL CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. Plot II. Row P. Grave 15A.

WILLIAMS John Richard 

Gunner 310051, 1st/1st (Welch) Heavy Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. Killed in Action 2nd May 1918 aged 23. Parents Samuel and Catherine Williams of Ty Hen, Pen y Garreg Lane, Penrhyn Bay. Buried in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Plot 28, Row B, Grave 9.

WILLIAMS Robert John 

Private 21010, 14th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Died 23rd February 1916. Aged 26. Born Llanfairfechan, enlisted Llandudno. Son of Henry and Elizabeth Williams, of 3, Penyffordd Terrace, Penrhynside, Llandudno, Carnarvonshire. Buried in GUARDS CEMETERY, WINDY CORNER, CUINCHY, Pas de Calais, France. Plot I. Row K.
