Sapper, 84467, 130th Field Company, Royal Engineers, killed in action May 27 1918, age 30. Posthumously awarded the Military Medal for bravery, he gave his life, holding his post, allowing his comrades to escape. He is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial, France. The town of Soissons stands on the left bank of the River Aisne approximately 100 kilometres north west of Paris. The Memorial is in the public square facing the river. Husband of Mrs Elizabeth Lack and son of George and Lilias Lack of Cottenham. Before joining the forces he was employed by Charles Lack and Sons, Engineers of Cottenham.
