Son
of Walter & Alice Susan Nightall, nee Barber. A Fireman with
the London & North Eastern Railway, who lost his life on 2/6/1944,
age 22, while detaching a blazing wagon from an ammunition train
at Soham. His Driver Ben Gimbert of March, who was badly injured
in the incident, was also awarded the George Cross.
