The memorial is located opposite the St. John-by-Antony churchyard which is west of the village at the junction of five roads. The memoprial is in the form of a wheel cross on a square plinth with two steps leading to it.

Abel Seaman (Comm. Boatman C.G.) 128000, H.M.S. Laurentic, Royal Navy. Died 25th January 1917. Aged 49. Husband of Brenda Elizabeth Stark, of 18, Park St., Mumbles, Swansea. Native of St. John's, Torpoint, Cornwall. No known grave. Commemorated on PLYMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL, Plymouth, Devon. Panel 21.
