World War 1 & 2 - Detailed information
Compiled and copyright © Paula & Dave Kennington 2006

The memorial stands adjacent to the lychgate in the grounds of St. Constantine Church, Forem Street, Milton Abbot. It takes the form of a three-stepped octagonal base surmounted by a two-stage, square sectioned plinth, overhanging a square sectioned capstone with a concave moulded upper area flowing into the foot of a tapering octagonal sectioned shaft and integral cross; the front face of the shaft incorporates a raised profile sword, pointing downwards; the lower plinth is of a slightly larger square section and reduces via a moulded upper area to the section of the upper plinth. Pinned-lead lettering forms the inscription and the names text on front faces of both plinths but the letters are a little faded. There are ten names for World War 1 and one fo World War 2.
