An obelisk on a square step set on a stone circular base, decorated with the coat of arms of the Dorset Regiment commemorating the men from the 1st Battalion, Dorsetshire Regiment who were killed in action or died of wounds in the Indian North-West Frontier (tirah) campaign 1897-98. Located in Borough Gardens, Dorchester. There are 23 names listed. The memorial was unveiled 24th May 1900 by Henry Edward Fox Strangway.
