The
memorial is situated at Haughton Le Skerne, which is to the north east
of Darlington centre. It is at the junction of Haughton Road (B6279)
and Salter’s Lane South. It can be found within St Andrew's churchyard
in a triangular flower bed. It is in the form of a sandstone circular
cross on tapering shaft mounted on a two-stepped plinth. The memorial
has eighteen names from World War inscribed on it by surname, forename,
rank and Regiment. The memorial was unveiled by Colonel G. O. Spence
on 7th October 1920.
