ROYDS John Iltid

Lieutenant, 1st/28th (County of London) Battalion (Artists' Rifles), London Regiment . Killed in action 22nd March 1918. Aged 40. Son of Charles Duncan Royds, of Brize's Park, Brentwood, Essex. No known grave. Commemorated on ARRAS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, france. Bay 10.

HUNT Reginald

Private M2/074781, Motor Transport Clearing Office, Royal Army Service Corps. Died in United Kingdom 6th November 1918. Aged 28. Born Powick, Worcestershire, enlisted London, resident Kelvedon Htach. Son of George and Hannah Hunt, of 7, Hallow Rd., Worcester; husband of Margaret Hunt, of Coppice Cottage, Kelvedon Common. Buried in North-West corner of SS. PHILIP AND JAMES CHURCHYARD, HALLOW, Worcestershire.

KING John

Private 43136, 13th Battalion, Essex Regiment. Killed in action 13th November 1916. Born and resident Kelvedon Common, enlisted Brentwood. Buried in SERRE ROAD CEMETERY No. 2, Somme, France. Plot II. Row B. Grave 5.

COWLING Bertie

Private 40017, 6th Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment. Killed in action 14th October 1916. Born Navestock, enlisted Warley, resident Kelvedon Common. Buried in VERMELLES BRITISH CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. Plot V. Row F. Grave 3.

Squadron Leader (Pilot) 41689, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Died 21st May 1945. Aged 26. Son of John Page Fitch and Elsie Ann Fitch; husband of Kathleen Mary Fitch, of Clapham, London. Awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.). Buried in ST. NICHOLAS CHURCHYARD, KELVEDON HATCH, Essex. Row D. Grave 19.

JOYCE Leonard William

Lance Bombardier 2029412, 2 Regiment, Royal Horse Artillery. Died 15th January 1943. Aged 27. Son of James Leonard and Lily Joyce, of Kelvedon Hatch. Buried in ST. NICHOLAS CHURCHYARD, KELVEDON HATCH, Essex. Row F. Grave 29.

KERSHAW Lewis Kennth

Flying Officer (Pilot) 47459, 26 Squadron, Royal Air Force. Died 27th November 1942. Aged 22. Son of Lewis Kershaw and of Mary Dowsley Kershaw (nee McKay), of Shenfield, Essex. Formerly 2/Lt. The Devonshire Regt. His brother Eric Stanley also died on service (see below). Buried in AUXI-LE-CHATEAU NEW COMMUNAL CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. Grave 1.

KERSHAW Eric Stanley

Lieutenant 307773, "A" Squadron, 1st Royal Tank Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps. Died 16th August 1944. Aged 21. Son of Lewis and Mary Dowsley Kershaw, of Shenfield, Essex. B.Sc., Hons. (Lond.): Queen Mary College. His brother Lewis Kenneth also died on service (see above). Buried in TILLY-SUR-SEULLES WAR CEMETERY, Calvados, France. Plot II. Row B. Grave 9.

SAYE Arthur William
