The Pebmarsh war memorial stands on a triangular patch of land on The Street, Pebmarsh, takes the form of a plain Latin cross mounted on square pillar and octagonal three stepped base; the letters “JHS” can be seen in a square frame in the centre of the cross piece. There are 12 names listed for World War 1 and none for World War 2.

Son of Kate Blomfield, of Pebmarsh Bures, Suffolk, and the late Walter Blomfield. Buried in VERMELLES BRITISH CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. Plot II. Row F. Grave 8.

Private M/352691, 604th Mechanical Transport Company Royal Army Service Corps attached XV Corps, Heavy Artillery. Died 17 May 1918. Aged 32. Born twinstead, enlisted Chelmsford, resident Coggeshall. Son of Charles and Emma Chinery, of Coggeshall Hall Cottages, Kelvedon, Essex. Buried in EBBLINGHEM MILITARY CEMETERY, Nord, France. Plot II. Row B. Grave 33.

DIXEY Percy [Edgar]
Private 270201, Hertfordshire Regiment. Killed in action 31 July 1917. Aged 19. Born Colne Engaine, enlisted Chelmsford, resident Pebmarsh. Son of Edwin Arthur and Maria Elizabeth Dixey, of Valiant's Farm, Petmarsh (sic), Essex. No known grave. Commemorated on YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 54 and 56.
HARRINGTON Stanley [Frank]
