The Pebmarsh war memorial stands on a triangular patch of land on The Street, Pebmarsh, takes the form of a plain Latin cross mounted on square pillar and octagonal three stepped base; the letters “JHS” can be seen in a square frame in the centre of the cross piece. There are 12 names listed for World War 1 and none for World War 2.

BLOMFIELD	Ralph	Private 12144, 9th Battalion, Essex Regiment. Killed in action 28 February 1916. Aged 32. Born Twinstead, Suffolk, enlisted Chelmsford, resident Pebmarsh. Son of Kate Blomfield, of Pebmarsh Bures, Suffolk, and the late Walter Blomfield. Buried in VERMELLES BRITISH CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. Plot II. Row F. Grave 8.
CHINERY	Arthur	Private M/352691, 604th Mechanical Transport Company Royal Army Service Corps attached XV Corps, Heavy Artillery. Died 17 May 1918. Aged 32. Born twinstead, enlisted Chelmsford, resident Coggeshall. Son of Charles and Emma Chinery, of Coggeshall Hall Cottages, Kelvedon, Essex. Buried in EBBLINGHEM MILITARY CEMETERY, Nord, France. Plot II. CLARKE	Reginald [William]	Private 12199, 9th Battalion, Essex Regiment. Killed in action 3 July 1916. Aged 19. Born Fulham, Middlesex, enlisted Chelmsford, resident Pebmarsh. Son of William Clarke, of Old Mill House, Pebmarsh, Bures, Essex. No known grave. Commemorated on THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Pier and Face 10 D.
COPPIN	Stanley	[Listed as COPPING on SDGW] Private 40157, 2nd Battalion, Essex Regiment. Died of wounds 20 October 1916. Aged 27. Born Grinstead Green, Essex, enlisted Colchester, resident Pebmarsh. Son of George and Emma Coppin, of Grinstead Green, Essex. No known grave. Commemorated on THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Pier and Face 10 D.
DIXEY	Percy [Edgar]	Private 270201, Hertfordshire Regiment. Killed in action 31 July 1917. Aged 19. Born Colne Engaine, enlisted Chelmsford, resident Pebmarsh. Son of Edwin Arthur and Maria Elizabeth Dixey, of Valiant's Farm, Petmarsh (sic), Essex. No known grave. Commemorated on YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 54 and 56.
HARRINGTON	Stanley [Frank]	Private 14670, "C" Company. 10th Battalion, Essex Regiment. Killed in action 13 April 1918. Aged 21. Born and resident Pebmarsh, enlisted Warley. Son of Harry and Jessie Harrington of Cross End, Pebmarsh, Bures, Suffolk. Born at Alphamstone, Essex [CWGC]. Buried in BOUCHOIR NEW BRITISH CEMETERY, Somme, France. Plot V. Row D.Grave 26.
HORNER	Archibald	Lieutenant, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (Eastern Ontario Regiment). Died 13 April 1916. Aged 37. Born 5 March 1879 in Cheshunt, Herts. Son of Edward and Blanche Mary Horner, of Pebmarsh, Bures, Suffolk. Rancher by trade. Unmarried. Attested 1 September 1914 at Port Levis, Canada, aged 35 years 4 months, height 5 feet 11 inches, girth 41 inches, complexion fresh, eyes blue, hair fair; religious denomination Church of England.=. Son of john William and Sarah Potter, of Pebmarsh, Bures, Suffolk; husband of Edith Elizabeth Potter, of Wickham St. Pauls, Halstead, Essex. RAINBELL	James [Alfred]	Private 7541, 2nd Battalion, Essex Regiment. Killed in action 13 September 1914. Born and resident Pebmarsh, enlisted Warley. No known grave. Commemorated on LA FERTE-SOUS-JOUARRE MEMORIAL, Seine-et-Marne, France.
RUST	Sydney [Morris]	Private 12145, 9th Battalion, Essex Regiment. Killed in action 20 October 1915. Aged 29. Born and resident Pebmarsh, enlisted Chelmsford. Son of Edward and Susannah Rust, of Pebmarsh, Essex. No known grave. Commemorated on LOOS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France. Panel 85 to 87.
SEABER	Harold	Lance Corporal 12385, 2nd Battalion, Essex Regiment. Killed in action 5 May 1917. Born Twinstead, Sudbury, Suffolk, enlisted Chelmsford, resident Pebmarsh. No known grave. Commemorated on ARRAS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France. Bay 7.
