There was also a brother, Charles Alfred Freeborn, who was a policeman until 1915. He joined the 3rd Battalion Royal Fusiliers, Private 17383, he was killed in action on 4 October 1918 aged 26. He has a head stone in the graveyard opposite the church but is buried in Gouy Ainse France.
