Lance Corporal [SDGW] or Corporal [CWGC] 767, 2nd Battalion, Rifle Brigade (The Prince Consort's Own). Died of wunds 6th April 1916 in France & Flanders. Age 32. Born and resident West Hanningfield, enlisted Warley. Son of John and Louisa Andrews, of West Hanningfield,Essex. Buried in CALAIS SOUTHERN CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. Plot C. Row 2. Grave 6.

BEATWELL Arthur [George]

Private 7855, 2nd Battalion, Essex Regiment. Killed in action 18th November 1914 in France & Flanders. Age 28. Born and resident Chelmsford, enlisted Warley. Son of George and Emma Beatwell, of Stock Rd., West Hanningfield Chelmsford. Buried in TROIS ARBRES CEMETERY, STEENWERCK, Nord, France. Grave II. R. 4/5.

BEATWELL Ernest

Gunner RMA/14398, H.M.S. Invincible, Royal MArine Artillery. Died 31st May 1916. Age 21. Son of George and Emma Beatwell, of West Hanningfield, Chelmsford. Commemorated on PORTSMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL, Hampshire. Panel 21.

Died of wounds [SDGW states 3rd] 2nd December 1917 in France & Flanders. Age 24. Born and resident Hanningfield, enlisted Chelmsford. Son of Eliza and the late Samuel Stacey, of West Hanningfield, Essex. Buried in ETAPLES MILITARY CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. Grave XXX. O. 4.

VICKERS Charles

DEVITT John Basil

Lieutenant 154323, Royal Engineers. Died 12th April 1941. Age 32. Son of Thomas Gardner Devitt and Ida Mary Devitt; husband of May Dorothy Devitt, of Winchester. Buried in SS MARY AND EDWARD, CHURCHYARD, WEST HANNINGFIELD, Essex.

RAYNER Horace William Charles

Private 6032015, 7th Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry. Died 23rd November 1944. Age 21. Buried in REICHSWALD FOREST WAR CEMETERY, Kleve, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Grave 47. D. 17.
