ABERCYNON WAR MEMORIAL

The Abercynon war memorial stands outside the village school in School Street, Abercynon, and takes the form of a cenotaph clock-tower enclosed in a railed area, the top is in the shape of a dome and the weather vane atop this is a Welsh Dragon. It is believed that there are 70 names listed for World War 1 and 70 for World War 2. The memorial was first unveiled 5th August 1922.
