The memorial is situated at the north end of this small mining village, which is near Pontypridd, on the right hand side of A470 in a small area just past the corner of Cilfynydd Rd and Pant-Du Rd on Cilfynydd Road, Cilfynydd, Taff-ely, Mid Glamorgan. The memorial takes the form of three pillars joined by a hexagonal base and capstone with plaques listing the names and the dedication on the faces of the base in gold lettering; the whole is surrounded by railings.
