World War 1 & 2 - Detailed information
Compiled & Copyright © Michael Tovery 2014

The Yanworth war memorial is within St Michael and All Angels Church and lists those who made the ultimate sacrifice in World War 1 and those who served and returned. It takes the form of a brass plaque mounted on a wooden backboard with carved border; the inscription has been engraved into the brass. There are ttwo names listed who gave his lives and 15 names of those who served and returned. A second plaque takes the same form as the World War 1 memorial, it lists those who made the ultimate sacrifice, 5 servicemen and 2 civilians (it has not been transcribed and photographed here but needs to be).
