The Crawley War memorial is in the form of stone cross mounted on a plinth around which is the inscription; this also stands on a two stepped base surrounded by a paved area. BUNDY Arthur

Private 10604, 2nd Battalion, Hampshire Regiment. Killed in action 9th August 1916. Aged 19. Born Bishop Sutton, enlisted Southamptn, resident Crawley. Son of George and Annie Bundy, of New Barn, Crawley, Winchester. Buried in POTIJZE CHATEAU WOOD CEMETERY, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot/Row/Section A. Grave 27.

COX Ernest

Private 25610, 1st Battalion, Duke of Edinburgh's (Wiltshire Regiment). Killed in action 31st May 1917. Aged 37. Born Crawley, resident and enlisted Winchester. Son of Elisha and Jane Cox, of Crawley, Winchester. Formerly 23623, Somerset Light Infantry. Buried in ST. QUENTIN CABARET MILITARY CEMETERY, Heuvelland, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot II. Row G. Grave 8.

CUELL [Oscar] William

Private 23048, Devonshire Regiment transferred to 91337, S.C.L.C, Labour Corps. Died in United Kingdom 23rd May 1918. Born Crawley, enlisted Winchester, resident Alresford. Buried in St. GILES'S HILL CEMETERY, WINCHESTER, Hampshire.

ELCOCK Arthur James

Private 9941, 10th Battalion, Hampshire Regiment. Killed in action at Gallipoli 10th August 1915. Born St. Maurice, Winchester, enlisted Winchester, resident Crawley. No known grave. Commemorated on HELLES MEMORIAL, Turkey. Panel 125-134 or 223-226 228-229 & 328.

NORRIS William Henry

Private 10055 (CWGC} or 19955 (SDGW), 10th Battalion, Hampshire Regiment. Died in the Balkans 20th July 1916. Aged 22. Born and resident Crawley, enlisted Winchester. Son of John and Ellen Norris, of New Barn, Crawley, Winchester. Buried in LEMBET ROAD MILITARY CEMETERY, SALONIKA, Greece. Grave 272.

PIPER Henry Ernest

[Listed as Lance Corporal on memorial] Private 201442, 2nd/4th (Territorial) Battalion, Hampshire Regiment. Killed in action 28th September 1918. Enlisted Winchester, resident Crawley. Buried in MASNIERES BRITISH CEMETERY, MARCOING, Nord, France. Plot I;. Row B. Grave 15.

PIPER Herbert Arthur

Private - possibly H A PIPER, Private L/9909, 9th (queen's Royal) Lancers. Died 29th NOvember 1918. Buried in AWOINGT BRITISH CEMETERY, Nord, France. Plot IV. Row A. Grave 1.

RIGGS Arthur Thomas (Tom)

Rifleman 47947, 1st/28th Battalion, Rifle Brigade posted to Artists Rifles, London Regiment. Killed in action 27th September 1918. Born Stoke-Sub-Hamdon, enlisted Halton, Buckinghamshire, resident Crawley. Formerly 66463, Royal Flying Corps. Buried in MOEUVRES COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, Nord, France. Plot I. Row A. Grave 38.

STEVENS Albert

Private 15813, 10th Battalion, Hampshire Regiment. Killed in action in the Balkans 7th December 1915. Aged 31. Born Crawley according to CWGC, Compton according to SDGW, enlisted Winchester, resident Crawley. Son of George and Sarah Stevens; husband of Louisa Ann Stevens, of Crawley, Winchester. No known grave. Commemorated on DOIRAN MEMORIAL, Greece.

WEATHERALL Arthur George

Corporal 29561, 2nd Battalion, Wilthsire Regiment. Died 8th August 1918. Aged 31. Enlisted Andover, resident Winchester. Son of Charles George and Elizabeth Sarah Allan Weatherall; husband of Beatrice Alice Weatherall, of 4, Rack and Manger Cottages, Crawley, Winchester, Hampshire. Formerly 20524, Hampshire Regiment. No known grave. Commemorated on LOOS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France. Panel 102.

WHITE Herbert Henry

Private 201424, 1st/4th (Territorial) Battalion, Hampshire Regiment. Killed in action in Mesopotamia 3rd February 1917. Aged 25. Enlisted Winchester, resident Crawley. Buried in AMARA WAR CEMETERY, Iraq. Plot XVIII. Row J. Grave 3.
