Son of James and Mary Jane Ablewhite, of 19, Wembley Park Drive, Wembley, Middlesex. Native of Boston, Lincolnshire. Buried in Hebuterne Military Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France, IV. J. 3. |

Private 5658, 1st Battalion, Hampshire Regiment. Killed in action from a bullet wound at Hill 60, Flanders, 29th April 1915. Born Ropley, Hampshire 1883, enlisted Winchester, resident Little London, Hampshire. A farm labourer living at Larkwhistle, East Stratton/Micheldever according to the 1911 census. He was survived by his wife Ada Brown and daughter Constance Dora Brown. His unborn son Charles George Brown was born 3 months after his death. His medals and wallet which bears the bullet hole are on display at the Hampshire Regiment Museum Winchester. No known grave.
