SHANKLIN WAR MEMORIAL

The war memorial is a granite cross and contains the dedication to the men of Shanklin and behind it is a marble plaque with the names of those who died in World War 2, including fire service personnel.

Leading Fireman, N.F.S. Son of Henry E. Blundell, of Heathfield, Pomona Road, Shanklin, and of the late Beatrice Blundell; husband of Eileen Phyllis Blundell, of Shenstone, Newport Road, Lake, Sandown. Died at Osborne House Hospital 5th May 1942. Age 36.
