The Memorial stands within St. Mary's Churchyard, by the side of the road in Crab Tree Lane, Pirton. Itb takies the form of a Rough hewn obelisk on square plinth with a two stepped base; plaques are affixed to the plinth showing the inscription and names for World War 1 and 2. There are 30 names for World War 1 and 6 for World War 2. The memorial was unveiled in 1920. For extra information on the people and the memorial see the Pirton Village web site.

Albert Abbiss was born on 16 November 1887. He was unmarried, and his occupation was a labourer. His attestation papers are dated 13 March 1915.
