Son of George and Mary Ann Allen, of The Park, Connington, Peterborough. Buried in Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. Grave VIII. D. 157.

PARROTT [John] Thomas
Gunner 111882, 335th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. Killed in action 27 July 1917. Born Midloe, Huntingdonshire. Enlisted Croydon, Surrey. Resident Kingston-on-Thames. In the 1891 census he was newborn, resident with his parents, Richard and Eliza, in Midloe, St Neots, Huntingdonshire. In the 1891 census he was aged 10, a scholar, resident with his parents, Richard and Eliza, in Cottage on Farm, Raveley Road, Raveley Magna, Huntingdon, Huntingdonshire. In the 1911 census he was aged 30, born Midloe, Hunts, a Flour Mill Warehouseman, married to Joyce Amelia, resident at 4 Wandle Road, Beddington, Surrey. His discharge papers give his wife as Joyce Amelia Parrot, of 86 Waddon Road, Croydon, originally with 1 Depot (8 August 1916) then 46 Company (25 August 1916), then 240 Siege Battery (26 August 1916), then 290 Siege Battery (10 November 1916), then 352 Siege Battery and finally posted to 335 Siege Battery 15 January 1917 which became part of the B.E.F. 3 May 1917. When he attested on 28 August 1916 at No. 1 Depot, Royal garrison Artillery, Fort Burgoyne, Dover, he was aged 35 years 5 months, a Carman. He married his wife, Joyce Amemlia Kitson, 25 December 1910 in Croydon. Joyce had one child born 10 April 1903 called Morris (Kitson), born Great Wakering, and then a second child called Richard Henry born 6 June 1911, in Mitcham, Surrey. His Army papers show his parents as Rchard abnd Eliza Parrott of Sawtry. His wife was resident at 86, Waddon Road, Croydon. Buried in Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery, Armentieres, Nord, France. (Acting 2nd) Lance Corporal 32767, 18th Division, Signal Company, Corps of Royal Engineers. Killed in action 1st December 1917 in France & Flanders. Age 29. Born and resident Sawtry, enlisted Huntingdon. Husband of Mrs. A. Payne, of Fleurbaix, Pas-de-Calais, France. Formerly 2611, Rifle Brigade. Awarded the Military Medal. Buried in Passchendaele (Passendale) New British Cemetery, Zonnebeke, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Grave X. E. 29.
