detailed information
Compiled and copyright © 2000 Martin Edwards
The
memorial stands on the main road through Spaldwick on a small triangular
green surrounded by trees. It takes the form of a simple Latin Cross,
the crosspiece of which is draped with a carved wreath; it stands on
a square plinth, which rests on a square concrete base that is surrounded
by railings. There are 6 names for World War 1, two for World War 2
and one for the Korean War. The memorial was first unveiled in 1922;
the builder was Mr W E Ashley.
