Within St Eanswith's Church, Brenzett, on the South West wall of the church is a wooden memorial plaque commemorating the men from the parish that died during the Great War. In the North aisle is another plaque commemorating the fallen of World War Two from the adjoining parishes of Brenzett, Snargate and Snave, unfortunately a significant number of the men commemorated remain untraced.

THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918

Private L/9960, 1st Battalion, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment). Died 18th October 1914. Born Brenzett. Enlisted Canterbury. Resided Brenzett.

PERIGO

Charles John

Petty Officer 1st Class 193472, “H.M.S. Bulwark”. Died 26th November 1914. Son of the late Joseph and Louisa Perigo of Snargate, Romney Marsh, Kent.

Private L/9876, 2nd Battalion, The Buffs, (East Kent Regiment). Died 28th September 1915. Born Brenzett. Enlisted Canterbury. Resided Appledore. Percy is also commemorated on the memorial plaque in Appledore parish church.

Private G/9076, 8th Battalion, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment). Died 18th August 1916. Born Brenzett. Enlisted Lydd. Resided Brenzett.

PALLETT – No Trace but MAY be this man from Stone in Oxney (nearby) – Private L/9782 Henry (Harry) PELLETT. 2nd Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment. Died Tuesday 29th September 1914. Born Stone. Enlisted Chichester, Sussex. Buried in the Vendresse British Cemetery, Vendresse, France. Grave reference II.J.14.
