The Charlton Postmen Roll of Honour and War Memorial is in the form of a wooden memorial with pediment and frieze at the head and a frieze at the goot. Within the pediment is the Royal cypher. containing the names of the men who served, and those who died, in World War 1 who were employed as postmen in the Charlton area. It has been been relocated to Charlton & Greenwich Letter Sorting Office, 25 Horn Lane, Greenwich, London. SE10 0DP. It lists those who served and survived and those who died. The lists below start with those who died and then lists those who survived. There are seven names listed, five who served and returned and two who died.

Born Plaistow, London E., resident Charlton, London E., enlisted London. Husband of Matilda Rogers (formerly Hogden), of Winchmore Hill, The Row, Amersham, Bucks. In the 1911 census he has been married to Annie for 18 years, aged 38, Town Postman, born Plaistow, resident 30 Floyd Road, Charlton, London S.E. Buried in COLOGNE SOUTHERN CEMETERY, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Plot XIII. Row A. Grave 1.
