SHOTTENDEN
WAR MEMORIAL
World
War 1 - Roll of Honour with detailed information
Compiled and copyright © David Hughes and Neil Clark 2006
The
Shottenden parish war memorial is in the form of an unusual home made
plaque constructed from oak and pine. It originally hung in the former
Shottenden Methodist Church but in February 2005 was found in the Chilham
parish church for safekeeping. Although not an attractive or particularly
well made memorial, it is an original parish tribute and warrants proper
care and protection. It would be a disgrace if this very unusual tribute
were lost or thrown away!
