KENTON Francis Edward
He had been a Private (#6344467). He enlisted with the Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment but at the time of his death, age 22, April 24, 1943 he was with the Hampshire Regiment and was killed in the North Africa Theatre of War. His unit was the 2/4th Battalion,. Hampshire Regiment. He is recorded at the Medjez-El-Bab War Cemetery in Tunisia (2. F. 15). It is believed by the researcher that he was born in the first quarter of 1921 at Tonbridge (Tunbridge Wells) and that he was a resident of Tunbridge Wells at the time of enlistment. He was the son of James and Daisy May Kenton and the husband of Margaret Ryrie Kenton of Muthill, Perthshire.
KNIGHT Eric Victor
Eric had been a Trumpeter/Lance Corporal with the Royal Horse Grenadiers. He had been a resident of 60a Upper Grosvenor Rd., Tunbridge Wells. He is buried in the Tunbridge Wells Cemetery (Row C. grave 11). He died at age 28 September 21, 1944. He was the son of Frederick John and Agnes Knight and the husband of Eva Rose Knight of Paddock Wood.
