EAST KILBRIDE WAR MEMORIAL

World War 1 & 2 - Detailed information
Compiled and copyright © Baird Ferguson 2008

The East Kilbride memorial stands at the roadside in Graham Avenue, The Village, East Kilbride. It takes the form of a Celtic Cross on a tapered shft surmounting a three tiered plinth the whole mounted on a stone cairn with the names inset into the front of the memorial. The memorial was funded with public subscriptions and erected by the local parish. It was built on two acres of land gifted by Allan Barnes-Graham of Limekilns. There are 60 names for World War 1 and 45 for World War 2.
