ANCASTER WAR MEMORIAL

World War 1 & 2 - Roll of Honour with detailed information

The memorials are located within the parfish church of St. Martin's. The World War 1 memorial is to be found inside the porch of the church a takes the form of a marble tablet set into an ornate stone frame listing twelve men who died in Worlif the form of a square Ancaster stone tablet with inscriptgions in blure and red lettering and lists sevean men who died in World War 2.

ALLIX

William Kent

Sacred to the memory of William Kent Allix. Captain in the Royal Regiment and Aide-De-Camp to Sir De Lacy Evans. He fell at the Battle of Inkermann 5th November 1854, aged 32 years. This tablet is erected by his brother officers who knew his worth as a soldier and will long cherish his memory as a friend.
