There
are two sets of memorials for World War 1 and World War 2 and another
for RAF Fiskerton all to be found in the parish church of St Clement's,
Fiskerton. On the walls of the east end of the nave, either side of
the tower, are matching memorials for WW1 and WW2. They are built-up
wooden plaques, with incised painted lettering and surrounds with gilt
detail. Under the tower, two stone tablets, one for each World War,
stand against the wall. They are in temporary storage here, having been
previously in the Village Hall, which was burned down. The names on
both sets of plaques are the same for each conflict. On the wall of
the southern side aisle, there is a slate tablet engraved with the crests
of Nos. 49 & 576 Squadrons, RAF, and the words:
IN MEMORY OF
ALL WHO SERVED
AT RAF FISKERTON
1943 - 1945
PER ARDUA AD ASTRA
