The memorial is to be found within St Mary's Church, Tainton. The World War 1 memorial is a wall mounted light grey rectangular tablet mounted on a black marble backing; there are five names listed; the memorial was unveiled about 1921. The World War 2 memorial is mounted on the wall below the World War 1 memorial and is a light grey marble tablet with two names listed.

Private 13463. 1st Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Died of wounds 21st June 1915. Born Louth, enlisted Lincoln and resident Ludford, Lincs. Commemorated KORTRIJK (St Jan) COMMUNAL CEMETERY. A.68.

WATERS

Charles

possibly Guardsman 7023 Charles Henry Waters. 1st Battalion, Scots Guards. Killed in action 11th November 1914, aged 25 years. Son of Robert Waters. Husband of Frances E Waters of 93 Ledbury Road, Notting Hill, London. Born Wragby, Lincs and enlisted Huddersfield, Yorks. Commemorated YPRES (Menin Gate) MEMORIAL. Panel 11.

WINTER

Sapper 154917. 22nd Field Coy (222nd on SDGW), Royal Engineers. Died 20th March 1918. Born Hainton and enlisted Lincoln, Lincs. Commemorated YPRES RESERVOIR CEMETERY. III.D.19.
