HATTON WAR MEMORIAL

The memorial for Hatton can be found on the north side of the nave in St Stephen's church, Hatton. The memorial takes the form of a wall mounted plain stone tablet with stone brackets along bottom edge with a quotation in capitalised italics. There is one name for World War 1 and one name for World War 2.

Private 28215. E Coy, 10th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment (7th Battalion on memorial). Died 6th November (9th October on memorial) 1918, aged 36 years (at Ypres on memorial). Son of John and Mary Topliss, husband of Beatrice M Tideswell (formerly Topliss) of Budby, Newark, Notts. Born Hatton and enlisted Louth, Lincs. Commemorated POZNAN OLD GARRISON CEMETERY. IV.A.5.

MAXWELL

David Alexander

Pilot Officer 84962. 66 Squadron, Royal Air Force VR. Died 14th February 1941, aged 24 years (in Battle of Britain on memorial). Son of John and Margaret Nichol Maxwell. Commemorated RUNNYMEDE MEMORIAL. Panel 33.
