The
memorial is to be found at the junction lof Great Carlton Road and Legbourne
Road, Little carlton. It takes the form of a Celtic cross with a shaft
set on top of a tapering plinth with a square base; the whole memorial
is surrounded by wrought iron railings with shrubs. There are 17 names
for World War 1 and one for World War 2. Within the church are two brass
plaques, one for World War 1 containing 5 names and a second with one
name for World War 2. Those marked † are
on the church memorial as well as the external memorial, the other men
probably served and returned.

[church memorial states 7 August.] Enlisted Louth. In the 1901 census
he was aged 6, born Little Carlton, son of George Croft and Sophia
Pinder, resident Carlton Road, Little Carlton, Louth, Lincolnshire;
brother of William Henry Pinder (below). In the 1911 census he was
aged 16, born Little Carlton, a Farmer's Son working on farm, son
of George Croft and Sophia Pinder, resident Little Carlton near
Louth, Lincolnshire; brother of William Henry Pinder (below). No
