The Tattershall War Mmeorial stands on the village green in Tattershall. It takes the form of a square pillar topped with an orb; the pillar stands on a square plinth upon withich the inscription can be seen; the whole stands on a three stepped base. There are 16 names listed for World War 1 only.

Born New Bolingbroke, Lincs, enlisted Lincoln, resident Tattershall. Son of John T. and Mary Bark, of Martin Dales, Lincoln. Native of Tattershall. Buried in BUSIGNY COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, Nord, France. PLot IV. Row A. Grave 8.

Private 12923, 7th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Died of wounds 10 August 1916. Aged 19. Born and resident Tattershall, enlisted Spilsby, Lincs. Son of Mr. and Mrs. W. GIBSON Robert
Musician RMB/1304, H.M.S. Queen Mary, Royal Marine Band. Lost with his ship at the Battle of Jutalnd 31 May 1916. Aged 24. Only son of Charlotte Gibson, of Tattershall, Lincoln, and the late Robert Gibson. No known grave. Commemorated on PORTSMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL, Hampshire. Panel 22.

Son of James and Ellen Toyne, of High St., Tattershall, Lincoln; brother of Fred (below). In the 1901 census he was aged 8, born Ranby, Lincolnshire, son of James and Ellen Toyne, resident High Street, Tattershall, Horncastle, Lincolnshire. In the 1911 census he was aged 18, born Ranby, a Baker, son of James and Ellen Toyne; brother of Fred Toyne; resident High Street, Tattershall, Lincolnshire. No known grave. Commemorated on THIEPVAL MEMORIAL. Somme, France. Pier and Face 2 A 2 C and 2 D.

In the 1911 census he was aged 14, born Edlington, working on a farm, son of James and Ellen Toyne; brother of Fred Toyne; resident High Street, Tattershall, Lincolnshire. No known grave.
