Thomas

To the glory of God this tablet is erected in grateful remembrance of Driver Thomas Dennis (Army Service Corps) who gave his life for King and Country in the Great War. He died at Basra where he was serving with the Persian Gulf Expeditionary Force on June 11th 1916. Went the day well? He died and never knew. But well or ill. England he died for you.

Driver T4/084359. Army Service Corps, attached 39th Field Ambulance. Died Mesopotamia 11th June 1916. Son of Thomas and Sarah Dennis. Born circa 1888 Wilsthorpe, Lincs, enlisted Harringay, Nth London and resident Stamford, Lincs. Commemorated Arama War cemetery. XIV.D.28.
