The memorial is heavily stained and moss covered, the inscription is unreadable and the names are believed to be correct, but may have been wrongly recorded. The memorial stands by the roadside by the A18 as it runs through Wold Newton. The memorial takes the form of a plinth mounted upon which is a tapered column and cross with the inscriptioon of the front face of the plinth. There are four names for World War 1 and one for the South African War 1900. The memorial was dedicated and unveiled by Alderman A E Alington 5th February 1921; details appeared in the Lincolnshire Chronicle 12th february 1921..

COCKRILL	George	Corporal 41514. 262nd Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. Killed in action 21st March 1918. Born Waltham, enlisted Grimsby and resident Louth, Lincs. Commemorated ARRAS MEMORIAL. Bay 1.
DIXON	Arthur	Possibly Private 1835. 2nd Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Killed in action 14th November 1916. Born and enlisted Louth, resident Waltham, Lincs. Commemorated GUILLEMONT ROAD CEMETERY, GUILLEMONT. II.I.6.
JACKSON	Cyril Compton	Lieutenant Colonel. Commanding 103rd Mahratta Light Infantry. Died 22nd November 1915, aged 47 years. Commemorated BASRA MEMORIAL. Panel 3.
KING	Harold	Possibly Private 12986. 7th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Killed in action 3rd November 1916. Born and enlisted Louth, resident Hawerby, Lincs. Commemorated THIEPVAL MEMORIAL. Pier and Face 1C.

SMITH	Charles	South Africa. No further information currently.
