CWGC has Edwin. Gunner 347518. 228th. Siege Battery, 4th Battalion Royal Garrison Artillery. Killed in action on 31st July 1917. Aged 37. Born in Chedgrave. Husband of Maggie E. Beckham, of The Cottage, Bethel St. Norwich. Buried: Klein-Vierstraat British Cemetery, Heuvelland, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Ref. II. F. 18.

FULLER

James John

Private 33142. 4th Battalion (Alexandra Princess of Wales’s Own) Yorkshire Regiment. Formerly 3726 Norfolk Regiment. Died on 11th November 1917. Aged 20. Born in Loddon. Enlisted in Norwich. Son of James & Jessie Fuller of Chedgrave. Buried: Longuenesse (St. Omer) Souvenir Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. Ref. IV. E. 76.

Listed as H. Easter on CWWG site. Private 7023. 1st/9th Durham Light Infantry. Formerly 5397 Norfolk Regiment. Killed in action on 16th January 1917. Born & lived in Chedgrave. Enlisted in Norwich. Buried: Peronne Rd. Cemetery, Maricourt, Somme, France. Ref. IV. A. 13.

Pte. 14696395. 4th Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment. Died on 2nd August 1944. Aged18. Son of Stephen & Agnus Bessie Goodyear. Born in Norwich. Lived in Norfolk. Buried: Hottet-les-Bagues War Cemetery, Calvados, France. Ref. IV. H. 3.

Robert Richard

Air Gunner 2nd. Class 1334864. Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Died on 1st November 1943. Aged 19. Son of Arthur & Sarah Goulty of Chedgrave. Buried: Ambon War Cemetery, Indonesia. Ref. 8.D.2.

SEAMONS

Harry Algernon

Private 5775065. 4th Battalion Royal Norfolk Regiment. Died during fighting before fall of Singapore on 11th February 1942. Aged 20. Son of Mrs. R. Seamons of Chedgrave. Born in Suffolk. Lived in Suffolk. Commemorated: Singapore Memorial. Column 52.

STARMAN

Albert Edward Hamilton

Pte. 5773302. 4th Battalion Royal Norfolk Regiment. Died at sea whilst a Prisoner of War on 21st September 1944. Private Starman was one of 1,000 who died when the “Toyofuku Maru” transport ship was sunk by U.S. torpedo bombers on that date. Aged 25. Son of Frank & Daisy Starman. Husband of Wilma E. Starman of Thurlton. Commemorated: Singapore Memorial. Column 52.
