HEMPTON WAR MEMORIAL

World War 1 & 2 - Detailed Information

Hempton is a small village half a mile south-west of Fakenham just off the A1065. The memorial is within the parish church of Holy Trinity and takes the form of a brass plaque mounted in a wooden frame with illuminated borders and black and red leterring on the face. In Hempton memorial hall there is asecond plaque with a black background and white lettering remebers those who gave their lives in World War 2. There are 16 names listed for World War 1 and 12 names for World War 2.

His employment was as a servant, so he could have moved to the Hempton area between 1901 and 1914.
