The Kenninghall memorials are located within St Mary's Church, Church
Street, Kenninghall, Norfolk. The World War 1 memorial is in the form
of a red marble nowy-headed tablet bearing the inscription, names and
musical notes of the "Fall In" bugle call. There are eighteen
names listed with initial, surname and unit served with. Below the World
War 1 plaque is a further framed stone plaque with the lettering engraved
and highlighted in black listing seven names from World War 2. For ease
of research the names have been sorted into alphabetical order within
conflict and not as listed on the memorials.

In the 1911 he was aged 21, born Kenninghall, an Iron Moulder, lodging
at Banham Road, Kenninghall, Norfolk. Buried in RIBECOURT BRITISH

London W.2. Enlisted 11 December 1915 in Windsor, Berkshire, aged

35 inches. Served in United Kingdom 8 April 1916 to 23 January
1917, then in British Salonica 24 January 1917 to 17 June 1917,
then with Egyptian Expeditionary Force 18 June 1917 to 13 December

Norfolk, grandson of Robert and Maria Nolleth, an Agricultural Labourer,

Husband of Eleanor Elizabeth (nee Emms) Wells, married July to
September 1909 in Thetford Registration District, Norfolk. Brother
of Frederick William Wells (below). In the 1911 census he was
aged 21, born Thorndon, Suffolk, married to Eleanor Elizabeth
Wells, a Farm Labourer, resident Lopham Road, Blo Norton, Norfolk.
No known grave. Commemorated on LOOS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais,
France. Panel 30 and 31. Also commemorated on his father's grave
in St. Andrew's Churchyard, South Lopham.
