enlisted as 17951 in the Norfolk Regiment in Norwich then later
transferred to the 1st Essex Regiment. He was drowned en route Gallipoli
on the Royal Edward on 13th August 1915. He is remembered on the
Helles Memorial Panel 144 to 150 or 229 to 233 and on the Morley
War Memorial. He was a resident of Morley St. Botolph. |

and died from wounds received in action at Paschendaele on 17th

He is buried at Etaples Military Cemetery Grave XXX. L. 20A and
is remembered on the Morley War Memorial. He was the son of Ellis
John and Eliza Semmence, of Morley St. Botolph; husband of Eva Gertrude
Semmence, of Morley St. Botolph and was a resident of Attleborough. |
