North Runcton is situated a mile or two south of King’s Lynn. The war memorial is situated in the churchyard of All Saints Church, and there is also a Roll of Honour inside the church. There is a window dedicated in memory of those from this village who laid down their lives for King and Country in the Great War 1914-18, in the north side of the church

Charles Henry

Private G/15274. 11th Battalion Royal Sussex Regiment. Died of wounds with the British Expeditionary Force on 7th December 1917. Aged 29. Enlisted East Dereham. Son of George and Harriett Barnes, of Hardwick, King's Lynn, Norfolk. Buried: Nine Elms British Cemetery Poperinge, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Ref. IX. D. 7.

Private 15556. 9th Battalion Norfolk Regiment. Killed in action in France & Flanders on 26th September 1915. Aged 21. Born Barton Bendish. Enlisted Norwich. Son of Herbert W. Barrett, of Warley Farm, Babingley, King's Lynn. His brother Walter Thomas also fell. Commemorated: Loos Memorial, Pas De Calais, France. Panel 30 and 31.

Private 43216. 1st Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment. Formerly 24076 Norfolk Regiment. Killed in action in France & Flanders on 21st March 1918. Aged 27. Born Eastmore, Norfolk. Enlisted King’s Lynn. Son of Herbert W. Barrett, of Worley Farm, Babingley, King's Lynn, Norfolk. His brother Herbert William also fell. Commemorated: Pozieres Memorial, Somme, France. Panel 23 and 24.

Lived and enlisted King’s Lynn. Son of Sarah Bowman, of Hardwick, King's Lynn, Norfolk. Buried: Duhallow A.D.S. Cemetery, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Ref. IV. I. 38.
