Woodbastwick is situated right on the edge of the Norfolk Broads, a few miles south east of Wroxham. The War Memorial in the nave of the church is of a beautiful art nouveau design, and also includes casualties from the Parish of Panxworth. Sapper Chapman was born on 19th June 1884, the son of Jane Ellen Chapman, of The Lodge, South Walsham, Norfolk, England, and the late James Chapman. In Canada he worked as a Lineman. Buried: Hersin Communal Cemetery Extension, Pas de Calais, France. Ref. I. E. 22.
