Chaplain 4th Class, Army Chaplains’ Department, attached 8th Lincolnshire Regiment. Died 07-11-18. Brother of Miss B. F. Cheese, ‘Roslin’, White Knole Road, Buxton. Buried in St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, Grave S.V.G.06.

Nicholas William Goddard

2nd Lieutenant, 1st Northamptonshire Regiment. Killed in action 09-09-16, aged 20. Son of Nicholas Goddard Jackson and Jessie Jackson, Duddington, Northants. Educated at Harrow and Trinity College, Cambridge. Buried in Caterpillar Valley Cemetery, Longueval, Grave XII.F.39.

Ernest

Private, 241983, Ernest William Payne, 5th Border Regiment. Killed in action 23-04-17, aged 33. Born and resident Duddington, enlisted Peterborough. Son of Philip and Harriet Payne, Duddington, Northants. Commemorated on Arras Memorial, Bay 06.

WALKER

Edgar

Private, 3/9454, 2nd Northamptonshire Regiment. Died of wounds 14-03-15, aged 21. Born Thistleton, Rutland, enlisted Peterborough. Son of William and Elizabeth Walker, Dadlington Lodge, Dadlington, Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Connection with Duddington unclear. Buried in Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, Grave III.D.15.

Private, 10th Cheshire Regiment. Believed to be: Private, 50642, 10th Cheshire Regiment. Killed in action 12-08-17. Formerly 30136, Leicestershire Regiment. Born Sheepy Magna, enlisted Atherstone, Warwick. Connection with Duddington unclear. Commemorated on Menin Gate Memorial, Panels 19/22.

Private, 12239, 8th Lincolnshire Regiment. Killed in action 26-09-15. Born Thistleton, Rutland, enlisted Grantham, resident Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Connection with Duddington unclear. Commemorated on Loos Memorial, Panels 31/34.
