On the left hand side of the Memorial Hall in Deanshanger Road, Old Stratford is a plaque. It is a brick-built Memorial Hall with landscape orientated, incised, dedicatory stone tablet that is mounted on the front wall, to the left of the entrance door. The hall was opened in May 1920 by Colonel W. H. Bull, K. H. S. The names listed cover both World War 1 (10 names) and World War 2 (3 names).

The building the Memorial Hall at Old Stratford is nearly finished, and the committee hope to see it opened by Colonel W. H. Bull, K.H.S.. on Whit Monday.

MEMORIAL HALL.
OPENED AT OLD STRATFORD

The Memorial Hall, at Old Stratford, was opened onWhit-Monday by Colonel W. H. Bull, K.H.S. The hall is situated at the cross-road and faces the Deanshanger road. A low stone wall encloses the building, which is 45 yards long and 15 yards wide; at one end of it a stage has been erected.

Colonel Bull said that they were fortunate seeing the Hall completed and ready for the use of the inhabitants. A long-felt want had at last been realised; he hoped they would endeavour use it very frequently and obtain much enjoyment meeting there. The general construction of the Hall was very satisfactory.

Mr. W. S. Parrott read the Trust deeds, and pointed out that the Hall had cost £760. Only £260 had been raised, deficit £500. Mr. W. W. Dickens, of Old Stratford immediately offered to provide the sum of money, so the Hall had been paid for entirely. (Applause.) Mr. W. H. Mackenes proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Mr. Dickens, which was seconded by Mr. D. Jones, the chairman, and was enthusiastically carried. A vote of thanks was also accorded to Colonel Bull.

After the ceremony the Last Post was sounded and the National Anthem was sung.

MUND[A]Y	Edwin	[Spelt MUNDY on Roll] Private 41769, 1st Battalion, South Staffordshire Regiment. Killed in action 26th October 1917 in France & Flanders. Born Calverton, Buckinghamshire, enlisted Northampton, resident Potterspury. Buried in ZANTVOORDE BRITISH CEMETERY, Zonnebeke, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Grave VI. L. 3. - See also Cosgrove.
MANDERVILLE	Edward	[Spelt MANDEVILLE on SDGW] Private 42332, 1st/5th Battalion, Prince of Wales's (North Staffordshire Regiment). Died 27th July 1918 in France & Flanders. Age 24. Born Cosgrove, enlisted Northampton, resident Stony Stratford. Son of Edward and Rose Mandeville, of 6, Cosgrove Rd., Old Stratford, Stony Stratford. Formerly 7340, Northamptonshire Regiment. Buried in SISSONNE BRITISH CEMETERY, Aisne, France. Grave H. 8.
PANTER	Reginald Charles	Trooper 1051, Royal Buckinghamshire Hussars. Killed in action 21st August 1915 at Gallipoli. Enlisted Reading, resident Stony Stratford. Commemorated on HELLES MEMORIAL, Turkey. Panel 16 and 17. See also Cosgrove.
WHITEHEAD	Charles	Private 20728, 6th Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. Killed in action 31st March 1916 in France & Flanders. Born Akeley, Buckinghamshire, enlisted Bletchley, resident Stony Stratford. Buried in ESSEX FARM CEMETERY, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Grave I. J. 4.

RATCLIFFE	Donald Douglas	Ordinary Seaman P/JX 275706, H.M.S. Culver, Royal Navy. Died 31st January 1942. Son of Eli and Alice Mary Ratcliffe, of Old Stratford. Commemorated on PORTSMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL, Hampshire. Panel 66, Column 1.
TAPP	Charles Algernon	Private 13095804, Pioneer Corps attahed Suffolk Regiment. Died 5th August 1941. Age 37. Son of Charles Edmund and Beatrice Tapp, of Potterspury; husband of Violet Amelia Tapp, of Old Stratford. Buried in ST. NICHOLAS CHURCH CEMETERY, POTTERSPURY, Northamptonshire.
WILMIN	Sidney William	[Spelt WILLMIN on CWGC] Colour Sergeant 5381166, 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. Died 24th March 1945. Buried in REICHSWALD FOREST WAR CEMETERY, Kleve, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Grave 35. F. 7.
