Believed
to commemorate the residents of Albert Place who died in the Great War.
When the housing in the area was demolished in the 1960s the memorial
was moved to the nearby Post Office Club. Following closure of the Club
the memorial was storage for some time. It is now mounted in the wall
of one of the shops opposite ASDA in the Rivergate Shopping Centre.
