The war memorial resides in Felton but also covers Acton, Eshott, Swarland and Thirston. The memorial itself is set back on its own paved area and is in the form of a Celtic Cross. The names are listed by location, forename and surname. The names for World War 1 surrund the base of the memorial and for World War 2 and extra tablet has been placed in front of the memorial.

Note: At 01.09 hours on 11th October 1943 HMS Hythe was torpedoed and sunk off Bougie, Algeria in position 37.04N, 05.00E by the German submarine U-371.

Note: S.S. CADILLAC was a 12,062 gross ton oil tanker, belonging to the Anglo-American Oil Co, London. On 1st March 1941 she was torpedoed in convoy HX109 by the German submarine U-552 at position 59.44N 11.16W and caught fire. She sank the following day with the loss of 35 lives, there were 7 survivors.
