The memorial on Holy Island (Lindisfarne) is on a small hill on the south of the island overlooking the harbour and the ruins of the priory (home of The Venerable Bede, etc). The island, which can only be reached by car when the tide is out, is off the Northumbrian coast roughly half way between Alnwick and Berwick-upon-Tweed.
