FORTROSE AND ROSEMARKIE WAR MEMORIAL

The Fortrose memorial can be found on the way to Fortrose Cathedral in the High Street, Fortrose, and takes the form of a stone lychgate with a dedicatory inscription on metal plaques on the inside walls; the plaques are fixed to the walls at each corner, with raised lettering being used. There are 34 names for World War 1 and 8 for World War 2. The memorial was unveiled 29 August 1922 by Lord Seaforth and dedicated by the local clergy and dignitaries.
