Known memorials requiring transcription

There are several parishes, towns villages and districts. These are all known to exist

  • Loch Broom parish: in Ullapopol, on the main rd south of village: 58 + 24 and at Achiltibuie (commemorating the men of Coigach) 26 + 10.
  • Kincardine parish WM is at Ardgay village, 46 + 10.
  • Edderton is on the A9, 26 + 9
  • Tarbat parish WM is in portmohomack village, 35 + 16
  • Fearn’s is at Hill of Fearn village, 45 + 25
  • Logie Easter is on the A9 at grid ref 778 757 24 + 14
  • Kilmuir Easter is on the old A9 at Kilmuir church, 28 + none shown WW2
  • Roskean parish has 2, one at Invergordon, 75 + 20. the other is at Alness station, which is not in Roskean parish but commemorates men of Alness and Roskeane, 65 + 20.
  • Kiltearn’s is at Evanton village, 42 + 16 and one in 1979 in Ulster.
  • Dingwall’s is near the station, there are 4: the Boer War, WWs 1 and 2, 4th Seaforths and the railwaymen. I recorded 106 + 32, presumably the world wars.
  • Fodderty has 2: on the cemetery gates on the Dingwall Rd and commemorates Strathpeffer and district and one at Maryburgh for M and district. My notes say it is between a hill to the south of A834 and the river Conon: 38 + 6.
  • Contin’s is on the main rd: 17 + 3
  • Gairloch has 2, on the main rd to the south, but is a list of those who served. Also at Kinlochbervie behind the garage. No detail.
  • Applecross: has 2, at Torridon village commemorating 34 + 4 of the Shieldaig Registration district, and one in Shieldaig village itself, 16 + 4.
  • Lochcarron: in main street, 30 + 8
  • Lochalsh: there is one in Plockton village and one at ? Reraig, 66 + 18 but can’t read my own notes.
  • Kintial: a monument on the A87 is for “All the mcraes”, but no parish or district
  • Urqhart and Logie Wester is at Conon bridge village on the A9, 45 + 6
  • Resolis, don’t know location, but have recorded 21 + 13
  • Rosemarkie’s is probably in Fortrose village, 33 + 8
  • Avoch 60 + 21
  • Knockbain 38 + 17
  • Killearnan 24 + 6
